- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 500 grams of finely ground meat
- Salt (to taste)
- Black pepper (to taste)
- 50 grams of pitted olives
- Grated cheese (optional, to taste)
Preparation Method for Meat Borek:
Preparing the Dough:
- Place the flour and butter in a medium-sized bowl and knead them together until they form a smooth dough.
- Add the salt, egg, and black pepper, and knead again until you have a soft and cohesive dough.
- Let the dough rest for about 15 minutes.
- Take portions of the dough and shape them to your desired size. Repeat this process until all the dough is shaped. Arrange the pieces on a baking tray.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Once the oven reaches the desired temperature, place the tray inside and bake for about 10 minutes, or until the dough pieces are cooked through.
Preparing the Filling:
Heat the vegetable oil and finely chopped onion in a pan over medium heat. Stir for a few moments until the onion softens.
Add the ground meat and stir until it begins to brown. Add salt, black pepper, and the pitted olives, continuing to stir until the mixture is well-combined and the meat is fully cooked. This will be your filling.
Place a portion of the filling in the center of each dough piece, then sprinkle with grated cheese (if desired).
Return the tray to the oven for an additional 10 minutes until the Meat Borek is golden brown and fully cooked.
After baking, transfer the Borek to a serving dish and serve hot to your family or guests, enjoying its delicious taste. Bon appétit!
