  • 1 kg of red carrots
  • 1 cup of washed Egyptian rice
  • 1 packet of tamarind
  • 200g of ground lamb
  • 1 tablespoon of mixed spices
  • 2 tablespoons of corn oil
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 1.5 liters of boiling water
  • Minced garlic (to taste)
  • Dried mint (to taste)

Preparation Method for Stuffed Carrots:

Step 1: Preparing the Stuffing

  1. In a bowl, mix corn oil, Egyptian rice, and ground lamb.
  2. Add mixed spices and salt, stirring well until all ingredients are fully combined.

Step 2: Preparing the Carrots

  1. Hollow out the carrots using a vegetable corer, making space for the stuffing.
  2. Stuff each carrot with the prepared rice and meat mixture, ensuring they are tightly packed.
  3. Arrange the stuffed carrots in a cooking pot.

Step 3: Preparing the Tamarind Sauce

  1. Soak the tamarind in boiling water, then strain it.
  2. Add a pinch of salt to the tamarind extract and pour it over the stuffed carrots in the pot.

Step 4: Cooking the Stuffed Carrots

  1. Place the pot over high heat until the liquid starts to boil.
  2. Reduce the heat to low and let the carrots cook slowly until fully tender.
  3. In the last 15 minutes of cooking, add dried mint and minced garlic for extra flavor.

Step 5: Serving

  1. Remove the pot from heat and transfer the stuffed carrots to a serving dish.
