Vegetable and Soybean Burger – A Healthy and Delicious Recipe
The burger, originally from American cuisine, has become a worldwide favorite. Known for its delicious taste and easy preparation, it is a staple of fast food culture. Traditionally, a burger consists of a meat patty, fresh vegetables, sauces, and pickles served in a soft bun.
However, not everyone consumes meat, so today we bring you a vegetarian version – a Vegetable and Soybean Burger that is equally flavorful, nutritious, and satisfying.
Ingredients for Vegetable and Soybean Burger
For the Burger Patty:
- 2 medium-sized onions (finely chopped)
- 2 cups soybeans (soaked and drained)
- 6 cloves garlic (mashed)
- Salt (to taste)
- 1 teaspoon black pepper (ground)
- ¼ kg finely minced meat (optional, for a hybrid version)
For the Assembly:
- Burger buns
- 1 cup pickles (cut into medium-sized pieces)
- 1 cup garlic sauce (toum or mayonnaise-based sauce)
How to Prepare Vegetable and Soybean Burger
Step 1: Preparing the Soybeans
- A day before cooking, rinse the soybeans thoroughly with cold water to remove any preservatives.
- Soak the beans in lukewarm water for 24 hours until they double in size.
- Drain the soybeans in a strainer and set them aside.
Step 2: Preparing the Patty Mixture
- In a deep mixing bowl, combine:
- Finely chopped onions
- Drained soybeans
- Minced meat (optional, for a non-vegetarian version)
- Mashed garlic
- Salt and black pepper
- Mix everything thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.
Step 3: Shaping the Burger Patties
- Take a small portion of the mixture and form it into a ball.
- Place the ball inside a plastic bag and gently flatten it using a rolling pin until it forms a medium-thickness patty.
- Use a round cutter to shape the patty evenly.
Step 4: Cooking the Burger Patties
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Fry the patties until golden brown and fully cooked, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
- Remove and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
Step 5: Assembling the Burger
- Slice open the burger buns and toast them lightly if desired.
- Spread garlic sauce on the bottom bun.
- Place a crispy soybean patty on top.
- Add pickles and any additional toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, or onions.
- Cover with the top bun.
Step 6: Serving
- Serve hot with fries, extra pickles, or a side salad.
- Enjoy your homemade vegetarian soybean burger!
๐ก Tip: For a healthier version, you can bake the patties instead of frying them! ๐✨
