  • 4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted well
  • 8 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons custard powder
  • 1 block (about 200g) softened butter
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla powder
  • 4 tablespoons baking powder

How to Prepare Biscuit Dough:

1. Preparing the Dry Ingredients:

  1. In a deep mixing bowl, sift the flour, cornstarch, custard powder, and baking powder.
  2. Stir well to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed.

2. Mixing the Butter & Sugar:

  1. In a separate electric mixer bowl, add the softened butter and powdered sugar.
  2. Beat until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.
  3. Add vanilla powder and continue mixing until fully combined.

3. Forming the Dough:

  1. Gradually add the butter mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring continuously.
  2. Knead the mixture for about 15 minutes until a soft, non-sticky dough forms.

4. Resting the Dough:

  1. Lightly grease a deep bowl with melted butter.
  2. Place the dough inside, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow it to rest.

5. Baking the Biscuits:

  1. Preheat the oven to a moderate temperature (about 180°C / 350°F).

  2. Place the baking tray inside to warm slightly.

  3. Shaping the Biscuits:

    • Roll out the dough on a smooth surface using a rolling pin.
    • Use a cookie cutter to shape the dough into various designs.
  4. Arrange the shaped biscuits on the preheated baking tray.

  5. Bake on low heat for 15 minutes or until the edges start turning light golden brown.

  6. Turn on the broiler (grill) for 5 minutes to give the biscuits an evenly golden color.


6. Cooling & Serving:

  1. Remove the biscuits from the oven and place them on a clean cloth to cool slightly.
  2. Once cooled, arrange them on a serving plate and serve with coffee, tea, or fresh juice.
