Buffalo Chicken Wings – Classic American Recipe
Buffalo Chicken Wings are a delicious, flavorful, and protein-rich dish, known for their crispy texture and spicy tangy sauce. Originating from American cuisine, they have become a staple dish for gatherings, parties, and game nights.
This dish features crispy fried chicken wings tossed in the famous Buffalo sauce, which is known for its bold and fiery taste.
Ingredients for Buffalo Chicken Wings:
For the Chicken Wings:
- 2 kg chicken wings
- 1 tablespoon salt
- ¼ cup lemon juice
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
- 2 teaspoons black pepper
- 2 tablespoons red pepper powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 2 teaspoons dried fennel leaves
- 3 cups flour
For the Buffalo Sauce:
- ¼ block butter (about 50g)
- 2 cups pre-made chicken wing sauce
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 3 tablespoons hot sauce
How to Prepare Buffalo Chicken Wings:
1. Preparing the Chicken Wings:
- Wash the chicken wings thoroughly with salt and water, then drain using a colander.
- In a deep bowl, mix together:
- Red pepper powder, salt, lemon juice, hot sauce, olive oil, dried basil, black pepper, cumin, dried fennel leaves, and paprika.
- Add the chicken wings to the spice mixture and toss well to coat evenly.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 1 hour to allow the flavors to absorb.
2. Coating & Frying the Wings:
- After 1 hour, remove the chicken wings from the fridge and coat them completely with flour.
- Return the wings to the fridge for another 30 minutes for better crispiness.
- Heat 2 liters of vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Once the oil is hot, carefully drop the coated chicken wings into the oil.
- Fry the wings until they turn crispy and golden brown.
3. Preparing the Buffalo Sauce:
- In a deep saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Add the pre-made chicken wing sauce and hot sauce.
- Stir and let the mixture simmer for a few minutes until slightly thickened.
4. Coating & Serving:
- Once the chicken wings are fully cooked and golden, remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
- Toss the crispy wings into the Buffalo sauce mixture, stirring well for 5 minutes to ensure they are fully coated.
- Arrange the Buffalo Chicken Wings on a serving platter.
- Garnish with lemon slices and fresh vegetables.
