Fried Chicken Puff Balls – Recipe & Cooking Guide
Fried Chicken Puff Balls are a delicious main dish, easy to make and quick to prepare.
Puff pastry is one of the most famous types of pastry worldwide. While making it from scratch requires effort and time, it is also available pre-made in stores.
Puff pastry is widely used in preparing various dishes, both savory and sweet.
Ingredients for Fried Chicken Puff Balls:
- 1 pack of puff pastry
- ½ teaspoon of black pepper
- 3 cloves of minced garlic
- 2 green bell peppers
- 2 kg of chicken
- ½ teaspoon of mixed spices
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup of olive oil
- 2 liters of vegetable oil (for frying)
- ¼ cup of chopped green onion leaves
How to Prepare Fried Chicken Puff Balls:

Prepare the Chicken:
- Wash the chicken thoroughly with salt and water, then cut it into medium-sized pieces.
- Drain the chicken in a strainer to remove excess water.
- Place the chicken in a deep pot, add a few bay leaves, a pinch of salt, and cover it with water.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat and let it simmer until the chicken is fully cooked.

Prepare the Filling:
- In a separate pan, heat a little olive oil over low heat and sauté the chopped green onions.
- Add the minced garlic and stir well.
- Sprinkle with salt and finely chopped green bell pepper, then add the cooked chicken pieces and mixed spices.
- Stir well and let the mixture cook for 10 minutes, then remove from heat and let it cool.
- Once cooled, mix in the shredded mozzarella cheese, ensuring the cheese blends evenly with the chicken mixture.

Assemble the Puff Balls:
- Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into equal-sized medium squares using a pastry cutter.
- Place a small portion of the chicken and cheese filling in the center of each square.
- In a small bowl, mix ¼ cup of flour with a little water until it forms a sticky paste.
- Fold the edges of the dough over the filling and seal them using the flour paste.

Frying the Puff Balls:
- Heat 2 liters of vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Once the oil is hot, drop the stuffed puff balls into the oil.
- Fry them until they turn golden brown, flipping occasionally for even cooking.
- Remove the fried puff balls and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.

- Arrange the fried chicken puff balls on a serving plate.
- Garnish with lemon slices on the sides.
