Fruit Salad – Recipe and Preparation Method

Fruit salad is a dish packed with essential vitamins and nutrients for the body. It's quick and easy to prepare, and anyone can make it effortlessly.

Fruit salad can be made using fresh fruits, preserved fruits, dried fruits, or a combination of both.

This dish offers numerous health benefits: it helps lower cholesterol levels, purifies and nourishes the skin, and particularly supports digestive health due to its high fiber content.

Ingredients for Fruit Salad:

Fruit Salad

  • 2 kilograms of assorted fruits

  • 1 kilogram of sugar

  • 1 liter of water

  • 1/4 cup of lemon juice

  • 1 cup of liquid chocolate or 1 cup of whipped cream

  • 1 cup of mixed nuts

How to Prepare Fruit Salad:

Wash the fruits thoroughly and allow them to dry completely. Then peel and cut them into evenly sized pieces.

Be sure to remove any seeds from citrus fruits during cutting.

Place the prepared fruit pieces into a pot of boiling water and let them blanch for just one minute over low heat.

Prepare the sugar syrup by dissolving the measured amount of sugar in water. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat for about 10 minutes. Add the lemon juice, then remove the syrup from the heat and let it cool.

Alternatively, you can replace the water with orange juice: reduce the sugar amount by half, add 4 cups of orange juice, and stir until the sugar completely dissolves — without heating.

Arrange the lightly blanched fruit pieces in a clear glass bowl, layering them carefully. Between each layer, sprinkle some fresh mixed nuts, paying attention to creating a beautiful contrast of colors.

Gradually pour some of the cooled syrup over the layered fruits and nuts. Add another layer of fruit and nuts, maintaining the colorful pattern, and pour the remaining syrup on top. Place the bowl in a cool, dry spot to chill.

When ready to serve, drizzle a little liquid chocolate or whipped cream over the fruit salad and sprinkle more nuts on top for a finishing touch.

Fruit salad can also be served alongside biscuits or slices of cake for an extra treat.
