Halva with Nuts – How to Make Tahini Halva with Nuts and Cocoa
Tahini halva is one of the traditional sweet treats from the Levant, well-loved for its rich flavor and smooth, melt-in-the-mouth texture. It’s packed with nutritional benefits and adored by the whole family. However, those with high blood sugar levels should consume it in moderation, as it is quite sweet. In addition to its delicious taste, tahini halva strengthens the immune system, boosts energy levels, and provides numerous health benefits.
In this recipe, we’ll show you two variations: Tahini Halva with Nuts and Tahini Halva with Cocoa.
Ingredients for Tahini Halva with Nuts:

2 cups of powdered white sugar

2 cups of powdered milk

2 cups of liquid tahini (at room temperature)

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Pistachios or other roasted nuts (as desired)
Preparation Method:

In a deep mixing bowl, combine the powdered milk and powdered sugar. Stir well until fully blended.

Add the vanilla and continue mixing.

Slowly pour in the tahini, a little at a time, while continuously stirring and kneading until the mixture turns into a thick, firm dough.

Transfer the mixture into a plastic or airtight container. Press it down evenly and firmly.

Sprinkle the top with your chosen nuts and press down again to set them into the surface.

Place the container in the refrigerator for about three hours.

Once chilled and set, remove from the fridge, slice, and serve. Enjoy!

2 cups of powdered milk

2 cups of powdered sugar

3 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder

2 cups of liquid tahini (at room temperature)

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Roasted nuts for garnish (optional)
Preparation Method:

In a deep bowl, thoroughly mix the powdered milk and sugar.

Add the vanilla and stir until well combined.

Gradually add the tahini and blend well to form a unified dough.

Divide the dough into two equal parts.

To one part, add the cocoa powder and mix until you have a consistent, smooth, chocolate-colored dough.

In a suitable plastic container, press half of the plain (white) halva mixture into the bottom, creating an even layer.

Spread the cocoa-flavored halva mixture on top of the first layer and press down firmly.

Add the remaining plain halva mixture as the final top layer and press it evenly.

Garnish with roasted nuts if desired.

Refrigerate for three hours. Once set, remove from the fridge, slice, and serve chilled. Bon appétit!
