Butter lamb is a flavorful dish rooted in the rich traditions of Indian cuisine, and it has become popular around the world for its delicious taste and simple preparation.

  • One kilogram of boneless lamb, cut into small cubes

  • Half a teaspoon of Indian garam masala

  • A quarter teaspoon of salt

  • One chopped onion

  • Two tablespoons of butter

  • Half a teaspoon of turmeric

  • Half a teaspoon of ground ginger

  • Two cloves of minced garlic

  • One tablespoon of tomato paste

  • One cup of water

  • Half a cup of liquid cooking cream

  • One tablespoon of honey

  • One cup of chopped fresh cilantro

How to Cook Butter Lamb:

Start by placing the lamb cubes in a bowl. Add the garam masala and salt, and mix well until the meat is fully coated with the spices.

In a large skillet, melt one tablespoon of butter. Add the marinated lamb and sauté until the pieces are browned on all sides. Once seared, remove the meat from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.

In the same skillet, melt the remaining tablespoon of butter and add the chopped onion. Sauté until it becomes soft and translucent. Then stir in the turmeric, ginger, and garlic, cooking for about one minute to release the flavors.

Next, pour in the tomato paste and water, stirring well. Allow the mixture to come to a gentle boil, then return the lamb to the skillet. Cover and simmer for about thirty minutes, or until the meat is tender and fully cooked.

Once the lamb is ready, stir in the cooking cream and honey, letting everything blend together for a minute or two.

Finally, serve the dish hot in individual plates, garnish with chopped cilantro, and enjoy it alongside a bowl of warm rice.
