Cold Toast Dessert with Cream – A Quick & Delicious No-Bake Recipe

If you often find yourself craving homemade sweets but are short on time, this easy cold toast dessert with cream is the perfect solution. It’s incredibly tasty, simple to prepare, and can be ready in under an hour. However, be mindful—it’s rich in calories, so if you're watching your weight, enjoy it in moderation.

Ingredients:

Cold Toast Dessert with Cream

  • 1 pack of crispy toast bread

  • 1 cup of crushed walnuts

For the Syrup (Simple Syrup):

  • 4 cups of sugar

  • 3 cups of water

  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

For the Cream Layer:

  • 1¾ cups of liquid whipping cream

  • 3 tablespoons of sugar

  • 2 packets of vanilla pudding mix (powder form)

  • 3 cups of liquid milk

Plus:

  • 2 cups of melted chocolate for the final topping

Preparation Steps:

  1. Prepare the Syrup:
In a saucepan over low heat, combine the sugar and water. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then bring the mixture to a gentle boil and let it simmer for 3 minutes.
Add the vanilla, stir to combine, then remove from heat and set aside to cool.

  2. Make the Cream Mixture:
In an electric mixer, beat the whipping cream with the sugar until it thickens and forms soft peaks. Set aside.
In another bowl, whisk the milk with the vanilla pudding powder until smooth and well combined.
Gently fold the pudding mixture into the whipped cream until you have a homogeneous, fluffy cream.

  3. Assemble the Dessert:
Dip each toast piece into the cooled syrup one at a time, then arrange a single layer of the syrup-soaked toast in a glass or ceramic dish (preferably a Pyrex tray).
Spread half of the cream mixture over the toast layer and smooth it out evenly. Sprinkle crushed walnuts over this layer.
Repeat with a second layer of syrup-soaked toast, followed by the remaining cream mixture. Smooth the top.
Pour the melted chocolate over the final cream layer, spreading it gently to cover the entire surface.

  4. Chill:
Place the dish in the refrigerator for about 2 hours, allowing the layers to set and the flavors to meld beautifully.

Serve chilled to your family or guests, and enjoy a creamy, rich dessert that tastes like it took hours—but didn't. Bon appétit!
