Fried Chicken Balls – Recipe and Cooking Instructions

Fried chicken balls are a delicious and widely loved dish that enjoys popularity across the globe.

Originally hailing from the rich and flavorful Mexican cuisine, this dish made its way to the United States and neighboring countries before gaining global appeal and becoming an international favorite.

What makes this dish stand out is its nutritional value. Packed with protein, it offers a great energy boost without contributing significantly to weight gain, making it a suitable option for those following a healthy diet or weight-loss plan.

It’s also rich in essential minerals such as iron, copper, zinc, and calcium—elements vital for maintaining overall health. In addition, the high protein content supports healthy muscle development, while the vitamins help boost the immune system.

Because of its health benefits and simple preparation, many home cooks make it regularly for lunch.

Ingredients (Serves 4):

Fried Chicken Balls

  • 500 grams of ground chicken

  • ¾ cup of breadcrumbs

  • 1 clove of garlic, minced

  • 3 tablespoons of chopped parsley

  • ½ cup of grated Parmesan cheese

  • 3 tablespoons of milk

  • 1 egg, beaten

  • ½ teaspoon of salt

  • ½ teaspoon of black pepper

  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil

  • 2 cups of tomato sauce

  • ¼ cup of shredded mozzarella cheese

How to Make Fried Chicken Balls:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken with garlic, parsley, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all the ingredients are well incorporated and the chicken absorbs the flavors.

Next, shape the mixture into medium-sized balls using your hands.

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over low to medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully fry the chicken balls until they are golden brown and fully cooked on all sides.

Transfer the fried chicken balls into a baking dish. Pour the tomato sauce over them and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.

Place the dish in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) and bake until the cheese melts and the flavors blend beautifully.

Remove from the oven and serve warm—perfect for a family lunch with a side of rice, salad, or warm bread. Enjoy the crispy, cheesy, and savory delight of homemade fried chicken balls.
