Pizza Pasta with Gouda Cheese – Recipe & Cooking Instructions
Pizza pasta with gouda cheese is a delicious fusion dish that combines two Italian favorites—pizza and pasta—into one satisfying, cheesy meal. Known for its creamy texture, roasted tomato notes, and aromatic herbs, this dish is perfect for a comforting lunch or a family-style dinner.

500 g penne pasta, boiled and drained

10 cherry tomatoes (halved)

10 fresh basil leaves

1 cup grated Gouda cheese
For the tomato sauce:

2 tbsp vegetable oil

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 garlic cloves, minced

3 cups crushed tomatoes or tomato puree

1 tsp dried oregano

Salt to taste

Black pepper to taste
Method

Cook the pasta:
Boil the penne pasta in salted water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside. -
Roast the tomatoes:
Heat a nonstick skillet and grill the halved cherry tomatoes for about 5 minutes on each side until slightly charred and softened. Set aside. -
Prepare the sauce:
In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the vegetable oil. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
Add the garlic and dried oregano, stirring until fragrant.
Pour in the crushed tomatoes, stir well, and bring to a gentle boil. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Once thickened slightly, remove from heat. -
Assemble the dish:
In a large ovenproof glass baking dish, add the cooked pasta and pour the sauce over it. Mix until the pasta is well coated.
Arrange the roasted tomatoes on top and sprinkle the shredded Gouda cheese evenly across the surface. -
Bake:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Bake the pasta dish for 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the top is lightly golden. -
Serve:
Garnish with fresh basil leaves just before serving. Serve warm and enjoy a comforting, pizza-flavored pasta dish your whole family will love.
