Broccoli with Chicken – A Healthy and Flavorful Recipe

A Nutritious Dish Packed with Vitamins and Taste

Broccoli with chicken is a nutritious and well-loved dish thanks to its numerous health benefits. Broccoli belongs to the cruciferous vegetable family, which includes cauliflower, cabbage, and kale. It's rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber. Regular consumption of broccoli helps relieve indigestion, regulate blood pressure, support immunity, reduce the severity of diabetes, and combat obesity—making it an essential part of a healthy diet.

This recipe serves 4 to 5 people.

Ingredients for Broccoli with Chicken:

Broccoli with Chicken

  • 3 medium chicken breasts, cut into medium-sized cubes

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon hot red pepper sauce

  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 3 medium onions, sliced into wedges

  • ¾ cup water

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1 medium head of broccoli, cut into florets

  • 1½ tablespoons cornstarch dissolved in ¼ cup cold water

  • ½ cup green onions, finely sliced

How to Prepare Broccoli with Chicken:

Start by thoroughly washing the chicken and removing any remaining skin or fat.

In a large pot or deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over low heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté until softened. Add the minced garlic and continue stirring until fragrant and well combined.

Add the chicken cubes to the pot and stir frequently until the chicken begins to brown and is partially cooked through. Cover the pot and let the chicken simmer gently over low heat.

Add the chopped green onions and stir well, followed by the broccoli florets. Continue to stir the mixture to ensure all ingredients are evenly combined.

Pour in the hot red pepper sauce and soy sauce, stirring briefly to coat everything in flavor.

Add the water and let the mixture come to a boil for 5 minutes.

Dissolve the cornstarch in cold water, then slowly add it to the pot while stirring continuously to avoid clumps. This will thicken the sauce.

Continue to stir until the sauce reaches a smooth and rich consistency.

Serve the broccoli and chicken mixture hot, alongside steamed white rice for a balanced and hearty meal.

Note:
Since soy sauce is naturally salty, it's best to avoid adding extra salt unless necessary to prevent the dish from becoming overly salty.

Bon appétit!
