It’s the kind of meal that feels indulgent yet offers a host of health benefits, making it a go-to option for families looking for a hearty yet balanced dinner.

What sets this pizza apart is its dual composition—protein-rich chicken paired with colorful vegetables—offering both energy and essential nutrients. Easy to prepare and packed with calories that convert into long-lasting fuel, it’s especially ideal for active individuals or busy households.

Beyond the taste, this dish supports heart health, thanks to its content of antioxidants that help combat inflammation and lower the risk of arterial disease and strokes. The variety of vegetables brings in vitamins C and B, which are crucial for strengthening the immune system.

The pizza also boasts an impressive mineral profile: iron to prevent anemia, calcium to maintain bone health, and trace elements like copper, sodium, potassium, and zinc to support cellular function and overall vitality.

Its dietary fiber helps protect the digestive system, keeping the gut functioning smoothly and preventing constipation.

Ingredients for Chicken and Vegetable Pizza (Serves 4):

Chicken and Vegetable Pizza

  • 500g fresh pizza dough

  • ½ cup vegetable oil

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut into small cubes)

  • 4 pieces Italian sausage

  • ¼ cup sliced onions

  • 200g sliced cremini mushrooms

  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic

  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch

  • 800g shredded Fontina cheese

  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced

  • ¾ teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley

  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme

How to Prepare Chicken and Vegetable Pizza:

Begin by rolling out the fresh pizza dough into a round disc on a lightly floured surface.

In a skillet over low heat, sauté the chicken cubes and sausage in oil for about 5 minutes, or until partially cooked. Remove from the pan and set aside.

In the same pan, add onions, mushrooms, and garlic. Cook over low heat for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened and fragrant.

Transfer the rolled dough to a greased round pizza tray. Brush the surface of the dough with a bit of oil and sprinkle half of the shredded Fontina cheese over it.

Next, layer the chicken, sausage, sautéed vegetables, and black pepper evenly over the cheese. Add the red bell pepper slices on top, then finish with the remaining cheese.

Place the tray in a preheated oven at 450°C (about 840°F, which is likely a typo—should be around 230°C or 450°F) and bake for 20 minutes or until the crust is golden and the toppings are fully cooked.

Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley and thyme, slice, and serve hot.

Whether enjoyed at a casual dinner or a festive gathering, this chicken and veggie pizza offers something for everyone—rich flavor, vibrant texture, and serious nutritional value all in one bite.
