Chocolate Brownie Jar – A Charming Dessert Layered with Richness and Joy
Chocolate brownie in a jar is a delightful and easy-to-make dessert that brings warmth, elegance, and a whole lot of chocolatey goodness to any gathering. Popular among home bakers for its quick preparation—just 30 minutes—it’s the perfect sweet treat for evening get-togethers, parties, or cozy nights in.
What makes this dessert especially beloved is not just its flavor, but also the way it’s served: in jars. It adds a personal, playful touch to the experience, and the moment it’s presented, smiles light up the room.
Chocolate brownies offer more than pleasure—they’re packed with energy and rich in health-boosting compounds from cocoa. Cocoa is known to help regulate blood pressure, improve circulation, and reduce the risk of strokes thanks to its antioxidant content. However, because it’s calorie-dense, this dessert is best enjoyed in moderation, especially for those on a weight management plan.
Ingredients for Chocolate Brownie Jar (Serves 6):
For the brownie base:
-
¾ cup all-purpose flour
-
½ cup cocoa powder
-
¾ teaspoon salt
-
½ cup baking powder
-
¾ cup unsalted butter
-
1¼ cups sugar
-
3 eggs
-
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
-
½ cup green sugar sprinkles (for garnish)
-
Chocolate wafer sticks (for decoration)
For the chocolate fudge layer:
-
200g semi-sweet chocolate chips
-
½ cup double cream
-
1 tablespoon corn syrup
How to Prepare Chocolate Brownie Jar:
Step 1: Prepare the brownie batter.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well blended.
In another mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light, fluffy, and pale in color. Gradually beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Continue mixing until smooth.
Fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
Step 2: Bake the brownie base.
Grease a baking dish with butter and pour in the batter, spreading it evenly.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
Step 3: Make the chocolate fudge topping.
In a heatproof bowl, combine the chocolate chips, double cream, and corn syrup. Place the bowl over a saucepan of simmering water (bain-marie) and stir until the chocolate is melted and the mixture becomes glossy and smooth.
Step 4: Assemble the jars.
Cut the brownie into small chunks or crumble it slightly. Place a layer of brownie at the bottom of each jar.
Pour a generous spoonful of chocolate fudge over the brownie. Sprinkle with green sugar candies and top with a decorative chocolate wafer.
Refrigerate the jars for 30 minutes to set the layers and enhance the flavor.
Step 5: Serve and enjoy.
Serve chilled, directly in the jar for an elegant and fun presentation. Whether for family or friends, chocolate brownie jars deliver warmth, joy, and a melt-in-your-mouth experience that’s hard to forget.
