Ingredients:
-
10 large apples (preferably sweet in taste)
-
½ cup fine sugar
-
2 tbsp ground cinnamon
-
4 ⅓ cups all-purpose flour
-
2 tbsp baking powder
-
1 tbsp salt
-
1 cup soft butter (at room temperature)
-
1 cup corn oil
-
4 cups powdered sugar
-
¼ cup ground walnuts
-
½ cup milk
-
2 tbsp liquid vanilla
-
8 medium eggs
For decoration:
-
1 cup powdered sugar
-
2 ½ tbsp powdered milk
Preparation Method:
-
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.
-
Peel the apples and cut them into small cubes (about 1 inch / 2.5 cm). Place them in a large bowl, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, and mix until all apple pieces are well coated.
-
In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
-
Using an electric mixer, beat together the butter, oil, and powdered sugar on medium speed until thick and creamy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each until fully incorporated. Stir in the vanilla.
-
Gradually add the flour mixture, alternating with the milk, until well combined. Stir in the ground walnuts.
-
Pour half the batter into the prepared pan. Spread the apple mixture evenly over it, then cover with the remaining batter.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven and place on a serving platter.
-
For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with powdered milk until smooth. Drizzle over the cake for a finishing touch.
