How to Make Cheese-Stuffed Chicken Escalope
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
Slice each chicken breast horizontally into two thin fillets. Place the slices in a large bowl.
Add all the marinade spices and oil to the chicken. Mix everything thoroughly to ensure the fillets are evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to let the flavors soak in.
After marinating, place each fillet between two sheets of plastic or inside a plastic bag, and pound gently with a meat mallet or rolling pin to tenderize and flatten the meat.
Step 2: Stuff and Layer
Take one fillet, lay a slice of cheddar cheese on top, and place another fillet over it to create a chicken-cheese-chicken sandwich. Repeat with all fillets.
Step 3: Bread the Escalope
In a deep bowl, whisk the eggs with salt and pepper.
Place the flour and breadcrumbs in two separate shallow plates.
One at a time, dip each stuffed escalope into the egg mixture, then coat with flour. Return it to the egg once more, then coat thoroughly with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure the crumbs stick well.
Step 4: Cook the Escalope
Heat a generous amount of oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat.
Fry each escalope until golden brown and crispy on the outside, and fully cooked through on the inside. The cheese should be perfectly melted.
To Serve:
Serve hot with a side of green salad, French fries, and a dollop of mayonnaise or garlic sauce.
Enjoy your crispy, cheesy chicken escalope—it’s crunchy on the outside and oozing with flavor on the inside! Bon appétit!
