Chicken Cordon Bleu – Classic Swiss Dish
Chicken Cordon Bleu is one of the most popular and beloved dishes, often served in restaurants or prepared at home as a special meal. Originally Swiss in origin, it has become an international favorite.

Ingredients:

1 kg chicken breast fillets

300 g French cheese (or mozzarella if unavailable)

300 g slices of mortadella

4 eggs

400 g breadcrumbs

1 cup flour
For the marinade:

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon mixed spices (such as coriander and cumin, optional)

½ teaspoon black pepper
-
½ teaspoon red pepper (sweet or hot, depending on preference)

2 teaspoons white vinegar
Preparation Method:

Pound the chicken breast slices lightly to tenderize them. Season with the marinade ingredients and refrigerate for about 2 hours (or longer if possible).

Place a slice of mortadella and some cheese on each chicken fillet, then fold or roll tightly and seal the edges well.

Coat each piece first in flour, then dip into beaten eggs, and finally cover completely with breadcrumbs.

Repeat with all fillets. Heat oil well and fry the chicken until golden brown. Remove and place on serving plates. Traditionally, this dish is served with French fries and coleslaw.
Coleslaw Ingredients:

1 small green cabbage, finely shredded

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (preferred)

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon white vinegar

1 teaspoon sugar (or 2 teaspoons pineapple juice if available)

½ cup mayonnaise

Coleslaw Preparation:

In a deep bowl, whisk together mustard, vinegar, lemon juice, sugar, salt, and mayonnaise until smooth.

Add the grated carrots and mix well with the dressing.
