Chocolate & Nut Banana Skewers – Recipe
Chocolate and nut banana skewers are one of the easiest desserts to prepare, yet they’re irresistibly delicious. This type of sweet is especially popular among children, who love both the taste of bananas and the rich coating of chocolate.
One of the main advantages of this dessert is how quick it is to make—just a few minutes are enough. That’s why many mothers prepare it frequently for their kids, not only for its flavor but also for its nutritional benefits.
These skewers support heart health thanks to their combination of chocolate and nuts. They are also packed with plant-based proteins, vitamins, and essential minerals such as magnesium, zinc, iron, calcium, copper, and potassium. Together, these nutrients help maintain strong bones, prevent osteoporosis, and boost blood health—making this dessert especially beneficial for people who suffer from anemia due to its high iron content.
Additionally, the nuts provide fiber that aids digestion and prevents constipation. They also help regulate blood pressure naturally and offer protection against certain cancers.
Ingredients (Serves 5):
-
5 bananas
-
¼ cup mixed nuts (hazelnuts, almonds, pistachios)
-
¼ cup cornflakes
-
¼ cup colored liquid chocolate (for decoration)
-
2 cups melted chocolate
-
5 wooden skewers
Preparation:
-
Peel the bananas and insert each one onto a wooden skewer. Wrap them in plastic wrap and place in the freezer until they become firm.
-
Once the bananas are frozen on the sticks, prepare separate bowls: one with melted chocolate, one with colored chocolate, one with nuts, and one with cornflakes.
-
Dip each frozen banana first into the melted chocolate, then into the colored chocolate. Afterward, coat them either with cornflakes or nuts, depending on your preference.
-
Leave the skewers for about 5 minutes to allow the toppings to stick firmly.
-
Serve the skewers cold to your family and enjoy this fun, crunchy, and refreshing treat.
