Chocolate Truffles – Recipe & Preparation
Chocolate truffles are one of the easiest yet most elegant desserts to prepare. They are round bite-sized chocolate balls, often filled or coated with cream, making them rich, soft, and indulgent.
Because they’re simple to make, many households prepare them for gatherings, celebrations, or casual get-togethers. Their presence always adds a touch of delight and sophistication to the table.
Nutritionally, chocolate truffles are calorie-dense, providing warmth and energy. For that reason, they should be enjoyed in moderation, especially by those on a diet. Still, they carry benefits thanks to their chocolate base: they support heart health, widen blood vessels, reduce the risk of clots, and improve mood while bringing joy and comfort. To give an idea, 100 g of truffles provide about 509 calories, 18 g fat, 53 mg cholesterol, 68 mg sodium, 297 mg potassium, 45 g sugar, 2.5 g fiber, 6 g protein, and 48 mg magnesium.
Ingredients (Serves 4):
-
500 g dark chocolate
-
2 cups cream
-
300 g milk chocolate
-
½ cup sifted cocoa powder
Preparation Method:
-
Chop the dark chocolate into medium-sized pieces and melt it gently over a water bath (double boiler) on low heat.
-
In a separate pot, heat the cream slightly, then pour it over the melted dark chocolate. Stir well until fully combined and smooth.
-
Let the mixture cool, cover it, and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
-
Once chilled, shape the mixture into small balls and return them to the fridge for another hour to firm up.
-
Meanwhile, melt the milk chocolate over a water bath until smooth. Place the sifted cocoa powder in a separate bowl.
-
Dip each truffle ball first into the melted milk chocolate, then roll it in cocoa powder for a rich coating.
-
Arrange on a serving plate and serve cold for a decadent, melt-in-the-mouth experience.
Smooth, creamy, and luxuriously chocolatey—these truffles are a treat that everyone will love.
