Fried Sardines – Recipe and Cooking Method
Fried sardines are a delicious seafood dish packed with high nutritional value. Like most seafood, they provide the body with essential nutrients while being light and flavorful.
Sardines belong to the herring family and are commonly found in the Atlantic Ocean and the western Mediterranean Sea. The name sardine comes from the Italian island of Sardinia, where these fish were once abundantly caught.
This dish carries many health benefits thanks to the richness of sardines. They are high in protein yet low in carbohydrates, and they supply the body with valuable minerals such as calcium, sodium, copper, and iodine. Sardines are also a good source of vitamins like B and D, in addition to both saturated and unsaturated fatty acids.
Nutritionally, every 100 grams of sardines contain around 11 grams of fat (including 2 grams of saturated fat), 142 mg of cholesterol, 505 mg of sodium, and 25 grams of protein.
Because of these properties, sardines contribute to heart health and protection against strokes, strengthen the immune system, slow down aging effects, and help maintain healthy skin and complexion.
Best of all, fried sardines are quick and easy to prepare, making them a popular homemade dish.
