Ingredients (Serves 4)

Swiss White Chocolate Tart

For the crust:

  • ½ cup sugar

  • ⅓ cup melted butter

  • 2 cups walnuts

  • ¼ cup flour

For the filling:

  • 1 tablespoon cream

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 300g white chocolate

  • 120g dark chocolate

For the caramel drizzle:

  • 1 cup water

  • ⅔ cup sugar

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Preparation

Step 1: Make the Crust
In a large mixing bowl, combine the walnuts, sugar, and flour. Stir until everything is well-mixed, then add the melted butter and continue mixing until the ingredients come together into a dough.

Press the dough evenly into a tart pan. Preheat your oven to 350°C (660°F) and bake the crust for about 15 minutes, or until the surface is golden and firm. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.

Step 2: Prepare the Chocolate Filling
Place the white and dark chocolate in two separate heatproof bowls. Melt each using a double boiler (hot water bath) until smooth.

In a small pan, gently heat the cream over low heat. Once it’s warm, pour two-thirds of the cream over the melted white chocolate and the remaining third over the dark chocolate. Stir both mixtures until fully combined.

Add the vanilla extract to the white chocolate mixture and stir until smooth and glossy.

Step 3: Make the Caramel Topping
In a small saucepan, combine the caramel ingredients: water, sugar, and lemon juice. Heat gently while stirring until the mixture turns a rich amber brown. Remove from heat immediately and pour it onto a plate to cool slightly.

Step 4: Assemble the Tart
First, pour the dark chocolate layer onto the cooled crust and spread evenly. Next, add the white chocolate layer on top. Finally, drizzle the caramel over the top in random lines or swirls for a decorative finish.

Refrigerate the tart for at least 8 hours, or overnight, until fully set. When ready, slice and serve to your loved ones—and watch them fall in love with this creamy Swiss delight.
