Egg Omelet with Sausages and Cheese – Cooking Tutorial
Welcome to today’s dish: an omelet with sausages (hot dogs) and cheese. Sausages (hot dogs) are minced meat that’s well seasoned and shaped like kofta. This is a light meal with very simple ingredients — mainly eggs and hot dogs. It’s easy to prepare, and anyone can make it. Let’s get started!
Ingredients for the Omelet
Serves 4 people
-
½ kilogram sausages (hot dogs)
-
Colored bell peppers (red, green, yellow)
-
Salt and black pepper
-
5 eggs
-
1 medium onion, diced
-
1 tomato, diced
-
2 tablespoons grated cheese
-
Spices: chili powder, ground cumin
-
2 tablespoons cream
-
3 tablespoons butter
-
Fresh coriander
-
3 lemons
-
Fresh dill
How to Cook the Omelet
-
Heat a skillet over low heat. Add 3 tablespoons of butter and let it melt. Add the diced onion and sauté until softened and golden.
-
Add the sausages and fry slightly with the onions, stirring well.
-
Add the bell peppers, salt, and black pepper. Then add the spices (cumin and chili powder) along with the diced tomato. Stir everything together for about 3 minutes.
-
In a bowl, whisk the 5 eggs with 2 tablespoons of cream. Season with salt and pepper, and whisk again until well mixed.
-
Pour the egg mixture into the skillet over the vegetables and sausages, spreading it evenly without stirring.
-
Sprinkle the grated cheese on top.
-
Transfer the skillet to the oven at medium heat (80–90°C / 175–195°F) for 8–10 minutes, watching closely until the surface sets.
-
Garnish with fresh dill, lemon slices, and coriander when serving.
This omelet is best enjoyed with white bread and lemony salad. Preparation takes only 20–30 minutes.
Bon appétit!
