Egg Omelet with Sausages and Cheese – Cooking Tutorial

Welcome to today’s dish: an omelet with sausages (hot dogs) and cheese. Sausages (hot dogs) are minced meat that’s well seasoned and shaped like kofta. This is a light meal with very simple ingredients — mainly eggs and hot dogs. It’s easy to prepare, and anyone can make it. Let’s get started!

Ingredients for the Omelet

Egg Omelet with Sausages and Cheese

Serves 4 people

  • ½ kilogram sausages (hot dogs)

  • Colored bell peppers (red, green, yellow)

  • Salt and black pepper

  • 5 eggs

  • 1 medium onion, diced

  • 1 tomato, diced

  • 2 tablespoons grated cheese

  • Spices: chili powder, ground cumin

  • 2 tablespoons cream

  • 3 tablespoons butter

  • Fresh coriander

  • 3 lemons

  • Fresh dill

How to Cook the Omelet

  1. Heat a skillet over low heat. Add 3 tablespoons of butter and let it melt. Add the diced onion and sauté until softened and golden.

  2. Add the sausages and fry slightly with the onions, stirring well.

  3. Add the bell peppers, salt, and black pepper. Then add the spices (cumin and chili powder) along with the diced tomato. Stir everything together for about 3 minutes.

  4. In a bowl, whisk the 5 eggs with 2 tablespoons of cream. Season with salt and pepper, and whisk again until well mixed.

  5. Pour the egg mixture into the skillet over the vegetables and sausages, spreading it evenly without stirring.

  6. Sprinkle the grated cheese on top.

  7. Transfer the skillet to the oven at medium heat (80–90°C / 175–195°F) for 8–10 minutes, watching closely until the surface sets.

  8. Garnish with fresh dill, lemon slices, and coriander when serving.

This omelet is best enjoyed with white bread and lemony salad. Preparation takes only 20–30 minutes.

Bon appétit!
