Peach Jam – Recipe & Preparation Method
Peach jam is a delicious and flavorful type of preserve, loved by families for the rich nutritional value of this seasonal fruit.
It is made from peaches, a fruit commonly grown in Mediterranean countries and found in markets at the start of summer.
Peaches are rich in fluoride, which helps prevent tooth decay and strengthens both teeth and bones. Since they are naturally low in calories, they do not contribute to weight gain.
They also contain Vitamin A, which supports vision and prevents skin dryness, as well as Vitamin C, which boosts immunity and protects the body from many illnesses.
Peaches are also high in iron and potassium, making them excellent for strengthening the blood and preventing anemia. In addition, they help regulate heartbeats and prevent high blood pressure.
Ingredients
-
1 kilogram peaches
-
½ kilogram sugar
-
Lemon juice
Note: You may increase the amount of peaches, but the sugar should always remain half the weight of the fruit.
Preparation Method
-
Prepare the peaches:
Wash the peaches thoroughly, peel them, and remove the pits. Cut into evenly sized pieces. -
Cook the fruit:
Place the peach pieces in a deep pot over medium heat for about 15 minutes, stirring continuously. -
Mash and sweeten:
Once softened, mash the peaches in the pot. Add sugar and lemon juice, then continue stirring over low heat until the jam thickens completely. -
Check readiness:
To test, dip a spoon into the mixture—if the jam sticks to the spoon, it is ready. -
Cool and store:
Remove from heat and let cool. Refrigerate for one full day, then transfer into completely dry glass jars. Seal tightly and store in the fridge until serving.
Enjoy its sweet flavor and health benefits with your family.
