Peanut Butter Cake – Recipe and Cooking Instructions

For the Frosting:

  • ⅔ cup sugar

  • ⅓ cup milk

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • ⅓ cup peanut butter

  • ⅓ cup marshmallows

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Cake:

  • 2 cups flour

  • 2 cups sugar

  • ½ teaspoon baking soda

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup water

  • ¾ cup butter

  • ½ cup peanut butter

  • ¼ cup vegetable oil

  • 2 eggs

  • ½ cup plain yogurt

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method of Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease a baking pan with butter to prevent the cake from sticking.

  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

  3. In a saucepan, combine the water and butter. Heat until it boils, then remove from the heat.

  4. In another bowl, mix the peanut butter with the vegetable oil until smooth.

  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, yogurt, and vanilla. Add this mixture to the peanut butter and oil, then combine with the flour mixture. Stir until the batter is smooth and well blended.

  6. Pour the batter into the greased pan and bake until cooked through. Remove from the oven and allow to cool.

  7. For the frosting: In a saucepan, combine the sugar, milk, and butter. Cook until the sugar dissolves and the mixture boils. Remove from the heat, then stir in the peanut butter, vanilla, and marshmallows until melted and smooth.

  8. Pour the frosting over the cooled cake, spread evenly, then cut the cake into slices.
