Tiger cake, in particular — and cakes in general — are among the most delightful desserts, with their taste and appearance varying depending on the ingredients used.

No matter how different cakes may look or taste, we can all agree they are sweet and enjoyable. Cakes are most often served during holidays, celebrations, and special occasions. In fact, cake — no matter the recipe — is always the centerpiece of any festivity.

One of the many types of cakes around the world is Tiger Cake. Recently, it has become quite popular thanks to its elegant and beautiful appearance.

Tiger cake is made mainly from flour, with the addition of eggs, milk, oil, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and vanilla.

Ingredients

Tiger Cake

Serves 4–5 people

  • 2 cups flour

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 4 eggs

  • ½ cup oil

  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder

  • 1 packet baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation Method

  1. About 10 minutes before starting, place all ingredients at room temperature.

  2. Sift the flour well into a separate bowl.

  3. In another bowl, combine sugar, milk, and oil. Beat well until the sugar is fully dissolved.

  4. Add the eggs and vanilla, mixing again until smooth.

  5. Gradually add the flour and baking powder to the mixture, stirring well for about 3 minutes until you have a smooth batter.

  6. Divide the batter into two equal portions. Leave one plain. In the second, add 1 tablespoon cocoa powder and mix until it turns dark brown.

  7. Grease a baking pan with ghee and flour, coating the bottom and sides well, then shake out any excess flour.

  8. Begin pouring the batter in alternating layers: a small amount of plain batter, then a small amount of cocoa batter on top, then plain again, and so on until all the mixture is used. This will create the “tiger” striped pattern.

  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 40 minutes, or until fully baked.

  10. Remove from the oven, let cool, slice, and serve with a hot drink.

Bon appétit!
